About the Role
A Diesel Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines and related systems in vehicles to ensure their safe and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other related systems in accordance with industry standards and company policies
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
Inspect and test vehicles to identify any potential issues and perform necessary repairs or adjustments
Keep accurate records of all services and repairs performed on each vehicle
Communicate and collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of work
Conduct safety checks and DOT inspections
Follow all safety protocols and regulations to promote a safe working environment
Maintain a clean and organized working area and properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials
Adhere to company policies and procedures
Ensure the shop stays tidy and organized
Other related duties as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License
Previous experience in a wash bay or related field is a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently
Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, squat, lift 50 pounds, stand for an extended period, and reach overhead
